Over the past few months, the CFO search committee—led by Dr. Doug Woods and in partnership with search firm Isaacson, Miller—has worked diligently to identify and vet some high quality candidates for this important position at Marquette University. While a few candidates stood out, ultimately the committee and I decided that we were seeking candidates that better match our rigorous criteria and who will be a better fit for Marquette and the Office of Finance. It is important to President Mike Lovell, Provost Dan Myers and me that we hire an exceptional leader—someone with both the technical and interpersonal skills to help us achieve the ambitious goals outlined in our Beyond Boundaries strategic plan. To that end, we will continue to recruit candidates to the pool. Please help by submitting names of candidates confidentially to Isaacson, Miller. Our goal is to hire a CFO this fall, although we will take as much time as necessary to hire the right leader for Marquette.
Additionally, during this transition, Jay Kutka will serve as interim senior associate vice president for finance. Jay has been a valuable part of the Office of Finance leadership team for almost 17 years, and is a trusted colleague with excellent relationships throughout campus. In this role, Jay will provide leadership both in the Office of Finance and with key partners across campus.
