This past September, the Milwaukee Business Journal named Marquette University a “2016 Best Places to Work” in the category for organizations exceeding 250 employees. The final rankings were published in the Oct. 21 print issue.
The University Staff Senate worked with KEI, the university’s landscaping partner to have a tree planted honoring the award. The tree is a Chinquapin Oak, a native tree not previously represented on campus.
To honor the designation, University Staff Senate invites the campus community to a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the site of the Chinquapin Oak, located just south of the Haggerty Art Museum.
The brief program will include remarks from Marquette University President Michael R. Lovell, and a blessing of the tree. Refreshments will be served.
