Hearken to My Voice, inspired by the life of St. Joan of Arc, will be performed Friday, April 28, through Sunday, April 30, at the campus’ namesake chapel. This outdoor, site-specific event involves dance, choral, theatrical and spoken word performances. The audience will be guided around the perimeter of the chapel to a variety of stations where presentations will occur.
The performance is under the direction of Marquette faculty members: Catey Ott Thompson, adjunct instructor; Connie Petersen, artistic assistant professor; Dr. Sarah Wadsworth, chair and professor, director of undergraduate studies, Department of English; Dr. Mark Konewko, carillonneur and director of university chorus; Lynne Shumow, Haggerty Museum of Art curator of education and community outreach; Dr. Susan Mountin, director of Manresa for Faculty; and Sr. Anne Arabome, associate director, Faber Center for Ignatian Spirituality. Students from dance, the theatre senior capstone course, costume technology course, and English capstone courses will also perform, along with the Marquette Chamber Choir.
The show will run:
- Friday, April 28, at 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday, April 29, at 5:30 p.m.
- Sunday, April 30, at 1 p.m.
The performances are free and open to the public. Helfaer Theatre will serve as the rain site for the performances.
