Employee Wellness Events for April

The Employee Wellness Program offers a variety of monthly wellness courses for faculty and staff.

Events for April include:

  • Oral Cancer Walk on Saturday, April 8. April is ‘Oral Cancer Awareness’ month and the Marquette School of Dentistry SNDA is sponsoring the event. Come run, walk, or donate to the cause. Register online. Tickets may be purchased the day of as well.
  • Pedal powered outdoor movie event on Thursday, April 20, at 8 p.m. in the Central Mall. The movie “Inside Out” will be screened on a large scale projector powered by electricity generating from bicycles. This event is being sponsored by Students for an Environmentally Active Campus, the MU Cycling Club, MUSG and Employee Wellness.
  • National Bike Challenge Town-Gown Showdown. Marquette University, along with Milwaukee County, UWM, MMSD, Alverno College, MATC, and Froedtert-Medical College of Wisconsin will host the 2017 Town-Gown Showdown. This is the third annual, fierce but friendly cycling competition. You don’t have to be a trophy-winning cyclists to participate, all active and retired employees, as well as their families, are welcome. To register, sign-up for a free Strava account online then join Marquette University’s TGS team by visiting the website.

Additionally, FitPass and Mindfulness Meditation classes begin Monday, May 1, and end Friday, August 11. The new FitPass grants employees access to all fitness classes on the schedule and allows participants attend unlimited classes throughout the week. Mindfulness meditation classes are free. Register online.
