The Association of International Education Administrators has awarded Terry Miller, director of Marquette’s Office of International, as recipient of the 2017 Timothy J. Rutenber Award.
Miller has been the ex officio legal advisor on the AIEA board since 2013, but his commitment to AIEA dates back to 1998 when he first joined the association. Through the years, he served on the membership committee from 2007 to 2011, the awards committee from 2012 to 2013 and as chair in 2014, the conference planning committee in 2013, 2015 and 2016, and he has chaired the audit committee since 2015.
Miller was recently recognized at the annual conference for truly exceptional service of long duration to AIEA.
The Timothy J. Rutenber Award is an award honoring AIEA members who have rendered long-term and outstanding service to the association. This award is named for the late Timothy J. Rutenber, who served as director of the secretariat and treasurer of AIEA until his death in 2004. A member of AIEA since 1992, Rutenber was an outstanding manager of the day-to- day affairs of AIEA and a wise steward of the association’s resources.
