ORI to host second pop-up café on March 30

March 23, 2017

Did You Know?

The Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) was created in January of 2015 to advance the university’s strategic initiatives around research and innovation, including its goal to double research funding over the next five years, and to provide an innovation infrastructure that supports idea generation, entrepreneurship and commercialization across campus. The office oversees a variety of functional areas, including research compliance and sponsored programs, and several key initiatives, such as the university-wide strategic innovation fund, social innovation and Marquette’s presence at the Global Water Center.

In order to highlight the different aspects of ORI, we will be hosting a series of Pop-Up Cafés at our various locations. The Pop-Up Café events will be informal gatherings where you will have the opportunity to meet members of the research and innovation team and learn about how they support the campus community and network over refreshments.

Did you know that…. The broad scope of research at Marquette university offers great opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to contribute to our strategic plan themes of “Academic Excellence for Human Well-Being” and “Research in Action.” The Office of Research Compliance works with the university committees charged to assist with oversight, review, and administration of a variety of topics including research involving human subjects and biosafety — helping ensure appropriate safety and ethical practices for our researchers and their subjects.

Faculty, students, and staff are invited to join us for our second Café on Thursday, March 30, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Office of Research Compliance, Schroeder Complex, 101.
