The Center for Peacemaking will host its inaugural Ignatian Peacemaking Lecture on Tuesday, March 28, at 5:30 p.m. in Raynor Memorial Libraries Beaumier Suites. Rev. Patxi Alvarez, S.J., secretary for social justice and ecology for the Society of Jesus, will deliver the lecture.
Father Alvarez is a member of the Jesuit Curia in Rome. He will focus his remarks on the development of the faith and justice connection in recent Jesuit history.
This event is co-sponsored by the Marquette University Center for Peacemaking, Jesuit Community at Marquette, Office of Mission and Ministry, Office of International Education, Campus Ministry, Church of the Gesu, Ignatian Associates-Ramos Community, Catholics for Peace and Justice, and Good Shepherd Parish.
A reception of coffee and cookies will begin at 5 p.m. before the lecture.
