The Marquette Physical Therapy Clinic and Department of Physical Therapy will offer a Parkinson’s group exercise class every Monday and Friday for eight weeks beginning Monday, March 6, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in Cramer Hall 10.
The class is based on a program designed by the Parkinson Wellness Recovery health club and is designed to combat many of the issues encountered by people with Parkinson’s disease, including rigidity, balance deficits, freezing of gait, coordination issues and mobility deficits.
The program is research based and includes education and exercise in an academic setting with faculty and students. A 1:1 ratio of participant to trainers is guaranteed to ensure a safe and personalized experience.
Space is limited to eight participants. Call Cindi Shepardson, physical therapy clinic receptionist, at (414) 288-1400 to register.
