National Marquette Day Pep Rally will be Feb. 17; parking changes

February 13, 2017

The third annual National Marquette Day Pep Rally and Fireworks will be held Friday, Feb. 17. Join President Michael R. Lovell, Vice President and Director of Athletics Bill Scholl, Basketball Head Coaches Carolyn Kieger and Steve Wojciechowski, and former men’s basketball player Travis Diener as they kick-off this Marquette tradition.

Festivities will be emceed by MUSG President Adam Kouhel and Marquette alumnus Jim Love. This free event will take place in Lot F (across from the Al McGuire Center) from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will include a s’mores roast, mac and cheese, hot chocolate and more. Faculty and staff who park in Lot F are directed to park in the 16th Street Structure. More information is available online.

The first 500 attendees will also receive a special Marquette giveaway, so make sure to line up early. Enjoy performances from our pep band, cheerleaders, dance team and the Golden Eagle. Get warmed up with Bollywood Bhangra led by students Maitri Majithia and James Jacob. Faculty and staff can register for the event online.

After the fireworks, head over to the Al McGuire Center for a Marquette Men’s Basketball Alumni Game. Former Marquette men’s basketball players are returning to Marquette to take to the court one more time in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Marquette men’s basketball. No ticket required. Former players will be signing autographs after the game.

On National Marquette Day, Saturday, Feb. 18, alumni will be gathering in Milwaukee and around the world at more than 60 locations representing over half the country and several international locations, including France and Haiti, to celebrate Marquette and cheer on the men’s basketball team.

Milwaukee events include pre-game celebrations hosted by: Business Administration Alumni Association, College of Nursing, Ethnic Alumni Association, Opus College of Engineering and Young Alumni Association. Registration for these events is available online.
