The first annual Latin American and Latinx Studies Symposium will be held Friday, March 3, in the Raynor Memorial Libraries Beaumier Suites from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The symposium will feature several events, including:
- A keynote presentation, “The Affective Hold of the Real: New Modes of Documentary Theatre In Mexico,” from special guest Paola S. Hernández, an associate professor of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
- Panels presented by Marquette faculty experts.
- An open student forum to discuss issues related to Latinx studies.
- A wine and cheese reception sponsored by Marquette’s Latino/a Faculty and Staff Association and the Office of Intercultural Engagement.
The Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and the Office of International Education are pleased to sponsor this event.
