Employee wellness events for February

January 23, 2017

The Employee Wellness program offers a variety of monthly wellness courses for faculty and staff.

Marquette will once again compete in the Go Move Challenge. Marquette’s faculty and staff will compete against 18 other Jesuit Institutions in the challenge to determine which university is the most active. To participate, you must track every minute you move your body each day from Wednesday, Feb. 1, to Tuesday, Feb. 28. Free activities will occur all month long and free MU Go Move beanies, pictured, will go to the first 200 people who register. For more information and to register go online.

The Go Move Challenge Kick-Off Event will take place Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m in the Helfaer Recreation Center Gym. Participants will be able to sign up for the Go Move Challenge, enjoy free snacks and activities. Activities include walking, volleyball, free throw contest, pickleball and fustal. Local fitness studios will also be offering yoga, Pilates and other physical activities. Prizes will be raffled off every 30 minutes with prizes ranging from $75 gift cards to hats and drawstring bags. Participants will also have the chance to test out a pair of Adidas Terrex’s trail running shoes in a special shoe demo. Employees can support the American Cancer Society by participating in the Suits and Sneakers Challenge by donating $5 and wearing sneakers to work on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Employees can also support the American Cancer Society by purchasing tickets to the Marquette Men’s basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 28, against Providence, or by bringing a cash donation to the Kick-Off Event. For more information and to register, go online.

Additional events for February include:
