Ever wanted to know what it takes to patent your invention? And possibly commercialize it? Dr. Carmel Ruffolo, associate vice president for Research and Innovation, and staff members from the Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) will be holding an informative workshop on Friday, Sept. 30, at noon in AMU 227.
This workshop will explain the technology transfer process at Marquette University and highlight ways faculty and staff can work with the Office of Research and Innovation to get onto the path of successful technology transfer.
“The bottom line is that we are here to help our campus to move their inventions forward,” Ruffolo said. “This is the first of many workshops that we will present to the campus community to give them the tools they need to succeed.”
The workshop will focus on the process for technology transfer, which starts with disclosure. You will learn how to file a patent, license agreements and start a business. The workshop will also cover the ways in which the ORI works with faculty and staff to successfully carryout technology transfer and you will also learn about additional university resources available.
RSVP to Dallas Flippin, graduate assistant for the Office of Research and Innovation.
