The Milwaukee Business Journal has named Marquette University as a “2016 Best Places to Work” in the category for organizations exceeding 250 employees. The winners were announced online today, and the final rankings will be published in the Oct. 21 print issue.
“This is a moment our entire Marquette family can be extremely proud of,” said President Michael R. Lovell. “This recognition from the Milwaukee Business Journal highlights the passion and dedication our faculty and staff bring to Marquette University every day.”
Nearly 160 Milwaukee-area firms were nominated for the award and the winners were determined based on scores from a survey that employees filled out. According to the Business Journal, the survey determines “companies that have the best culture, leadership and employees who feel the most engaged by their jobs and management.”
“As we strive for excellence every day, we know and recognize that the key ingredient to our success are the people of Marquette University,” said Cas Castro, vice president for human resources. “Ultimately, the real winners are our 12,000 students who learn from the very best.”
The survey analyzes organizations in the core areas of engagement, including: communication and resources; individual needs; manager effectiveness; personal engagement; team dynamics; and trust in leadership.
