The Center for Gender and Sexualities Studies is pleased to announce the request for proposals for the CGSS Women and Girls of Color Research Initiative Grant. Proposals should examine issues and concerns facing women and girls of color in the United Sates and, in particular, the Midwest.
All Marquette University tenure track and tenured faculty are eligible to apply. All other full- and part-time faculty, staff, students and community members are welcome to apply but must partner with eligible faculty.
This grant will provide between $10,000 and $100,000 to select projects that examine this population. Funding can be used to begin, continue, and complete a research or writing project on women and girls of color.
A grant review committee will review all proposals and the CGSS board and the provost will make funding decisions. Preference will be given to applicants whose projects have not received any extramural support, to interdisciplinary research teams and to those projects that have a particular focus on the Milwaukee area. Successfully funded faculty will be required to meet with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to discuss external funding of their project.
Proposals are due Friday, Dec. 9, at 11:59 p.m. Proposals submitted after this deadline will not be considered. Direct all questions to the Center for Gender and Sexualities Studies.
