Marquette University has entered into a new contract with PepsiCo for all on-campus beverage services, according to Rick Arcuri, director of business operations and auxiliary services. The seven-year term guarantees Pepsi exclusive distribution rights for its line of soft drinks and other beverages, which include Pepsi and Diet Pepsi colas, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Dole fruit juices and Aquafina bottled water.
Per the terms of the contract, Pepsi will provide the university with new beverage refrigeration, vending and dispensing equipment, new point of purchase payment technology, Gatorade products and equipment for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, and educational programming support, such as sponsorship for speakers and lectures. Further, Pepsi has signed on as an official sponsor of Homecoming 2016.
According to Arcuri, the new equipment provided by Pepsi will provide an opportunity to integrate healthier choices into the university’s beverage vending services.
“As we refill machines over the coming months, we will seek student feedback so that we can incorporate their preferences into the types of products we offer,” Arcuri said. “Pepsi’s product line includes much more than carbonated soft drinks, and we want to be sure we provide a broad array of offerings that meet the health and lifestyle needs of the Marquette community.”
