The newly formed Center for Gender and Sexualities Studies is seeking nominations for five positions on its advisory board. Positions include:
- Two faculty members
- One community member
- One alumnus or alumnae
- One student
The CGSS is an interdisciplinary center housed in the College of Arts and Sciences that will work to promote the study of gender and sexualities, and will provide academic support and programming to faculty, students, staff, alumni, and the Milwaukee community. The CGSS also oversees the women and gender studies major and minor.
The responsibilities of the founding board will include setting the direction of the center, developing a charter and mission statement, overseeing WGST, and promoting the center’s activities and programming. Student members will serve one-year terms on the board. All other board members will serve a three-year term.
Please submit nominations that clearly specify the following information:
- Nominee’s name (indicate whether you are nominating yourself or someone else)
- Nominee’s title/position
- Nominee’s affiliation with MU
- Brief statement explaining interest in gender and sexualities studies, and how the nominee can contribute to the center
Nominations should be sent to Angie Harris, director of the CGSS, by Thursday, Nov. 11.
