Within weeks from the announcement of new COVID-19 mitigation protocols for campus, the Marquette community is now 84% up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccine. This up-to-date percentage includes individuals who uploaded proof of booster and those who received the primary series of the vaccine – two doses of Moderna or Pfizer or one J&J dose – but aren’t yet eligible for the booster. 85% of students are up-to-date on their COVID-19 vaccines and 79% of faculty and staff are up-to-date as of Feb. 17.
Additionally, 94% of campus is vaccinated with the primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Staying current with your vaccinations offers the highest level of protection for both you and our community. High vaccination rates and masking have helped Marquette keep its commitment to in-person learning this academic year.
Beginning Feb. 17 at 2 p.m., the COVID-19 public dashboard will show the percentages of students and employees (faculty and staff) who are up-to-date on vaccinations. The weekly dashboard is published on Thursdays at 2 p.m.
Booster eligibility and how to upload vaccine documentation
Booster eligibility depends on the last dose received of the primary series vaccination. Those who have uploaded proof of the primary series are eligible for the booster:
- Five months after receiving a second dose of the Moderna vaccine
- Five months after receiving a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine
- Two months after getting the Johnson & Johnson vaccine
Remember to upload your proof of booster and verify it uploaded correctly. Those who are up-to-date on their vaccination avoid surveillance testing and having to complete the daily COVID Cheq email survey. Additionally, boosted employees and students who are close contacts to a COVID-19 exposure do not have to quarantine if they are not symptomatic.
Campus vaccine and booster clinic on March 1
Given the success of the previous vaccine and booster clinic, Marquette is hosting another clinic on March 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the AMU Ballrooms. All doses – first, second and boosters – of Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccines will be available. Influenza vaccines will be available as well. Remember to bring your COVID-19 vaccine card if you are receiving your second or booster dose.
